In preparation for today's 70% chance of rain, and the inevitable mudhole that will ensue, we decided to enclose the pump area with tumbled pavers and river rock. Now when it rains the water will be dissipated over the whole area as opposed to flooding directly under the house!

We're pretty pleased with the aesthetic value as well!

One of the doors out of the enclosure will open onto the grassy area right about where Mason is laying.

Stay tuned for the screen enclosure raising next week!

I know it's been a little bit since our last post, but things have been happening here. No, we're still not completely done, but certainly closer. The screen enclosure for the pool and deck is due to begin in the next 10 days permit, well...permitting!
We are due for "Pool School" tomorrow which should be interesting since so far it seems we both know more than the actual pool company. To say it nice, we have had a rough time with this company. We are certainly looking forward to finishing up with them.

Today, we made some great strides in completing the bathroom. I know! It is taking us forever, but we are making important choices very slowly. So here are some pics from the last week or so! Enjoy!

This is where things are right now. Anxiously awaiting the screen enclosure!

The water is slowly clearing up. We have had lots of rain lately, so the pump is working overtime to catch up.

We had today off for the Martin Luther King Holiday, and decided to get a few things done. Here we are removing the railing from the balcony in preparation for the screen enclosure.

Someones excited about the new tools Santa brought her!

Jen had a great idea to mount the cherry block on top of a stainless steel table and use it as a vanity instead of our initial choice of floating it on the wall. We think it is going to be fabulous! What do you think? The next task is picking out a sink and fixture.

So this is where the bathroom is at the end of the day! It is shaping up!

Oh! One last thing! We managed to find handles that fit our vintage plumbing, so that means we can now shower in this piece of art!

The work has resumed on the pavers after a break in progress for a day. The pool company didn't measure correctly so we ran out of pavers on the first day!
So today things are back in the swing and it looks like today we will be finished!

I have to take a minute to commend the paver company and the excellent job they have done on our deck. On top of being very skilled and concerned about their work, these guys have also been extremely conscientious regarding our house, yard, and overall space. Each night the work site has been left clean, free of debris and secure. We highly recommend Florida PaverScapes.

Yikes he gets close to his foot! (You might not be able to see it, but the top of his boot is cut off!! Wonder how that happened?)

And so it begins... There isn't much to tell or narrate so I will let the pictures do the talking.
More to come as the week progresses.

The crew started filling in the area with crushed asphalt in preparation for the pavers tomorrow!!
Can't you just feel the anticipation?!

Much to our surprise, the coping had been placed around the pool while we were at work Friday. This exciting discovery was then followed up by a call that the rest of the patio should be down by the middle of the week! I don't have to tell any of you that have been here at the house lately, that we are just giddy with excitement and the possibility that the dirt highway running through the house will soon be closed!

So here are some shots of the progress made! Enjoy!
I hope to have more to tell you tomorrow!
